Intercom pricing has two parts: seats and usage. Seats cost $29 a month on Essential, $85 on Advanced and $132 on Expert, per seat billed annually, or $39, $99 and $139 billed monthly. Fin AI Agent is billed on top at $0.99 per outcome, charged at most once per conversation (Intercom pricing and Fin pricing, checked September 26, 2026). Earlier in 2026, Intercom called the billing unit a resolution, which is why many guides still quote “$0.99 per resolution”.
The company behind Intercom now calls itself Fin, and Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin on September 10, 2026 (Salesforce). Salesforce had announced the deal on June 15, 2026, at about $3.6 billion (announcement), and says Fin will continue to serve its customers. As of September 26, Intercom’s pricing page still sells the Intercom helpdesk with Fin AI Agent. Prices and packaging can change after an acquisition, so check the current page before you sign a long contract.
Intercom plans and seat prices
| Plan | Per seat per month, billed annually | Billed monthly | What the plan adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $29 | $39 | Messenger live chat, a shared inbox and ticketing, pre-built reports, a public help center and basic automation |
| Advanced | $85 | $99 | Multiple team inboxes, workflow automation, round robin assignment, a private and multilingual help center and 20 free Lite seats |
| Expert | $132 | $139 | SSO and identity management, HIPAA support, SLAs, a multibrand Messenger and help center and 50 free Lite seats |
Intercom needs at least one Full seat. Every teammate who talks to customers needs a Full seat; Lite seats, free on Advanced and Expert, give colleagues limited access for internal collaboration. Startups with under $10M raised and 15 employees or fewer can apply to Intercom’s Early Stage program, which Intercom advertises at 93% off.
How Fin AI Agent pricing works
Fin AI Agent is available on every Intercom plan at $0.99 per outcome. Intercom counts an outcome when:
- The customer confirms the issue is resolved.
- The customer does not ask for more help after Fin responds.
- Fin completes a workflow (a Procedure), including a handoff you configured.
You are charged at most once per conversation, even if Fin answers several questions or takes several actions, and a conversation that is later reopened has its outcome refunded. If Fin cannot answer or fails an action, or if the customer asks to speak to a human at any point, Intercom says you pay nothing. Spending limits and alerts are available, and Intercom offers a 90-day money-back guarantee on Fin.
Three more prices matter for some teams:
- Fin on another help desk. Fin works on top of tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Freshdesk at $0.99 per outcome, with a minimum monthly commitment (Intercom gives 50 outcomes as an example) and no seat costs.
- Sales outcomes. On Fin’s pricing page, a disqualification or a self-serve routing costs $0.99, and a qualified lead costs $9.99.
- Fin Voice. AI phone support is on a custom plan through sales, for select customers (fin.ai pricing FAQ, checked September 27, 2026).
Intercom add-ons and usage fees
| Add-on or usage | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Copilot | $29 per agent per month billed annually, $35 billed monthly | Every agent gets 10 Copilot conversations a month free |
| Pro | From $99 per workspace per month | Operator, an agent for customer operations, plus analysis of 1,000 conversations and 2,000 credits a month |
| Proactive Support Plus | $99 per month for 500 messages | Product tours, surveys, in-app messages, mobile push and carousels; extra messages cost more |
| WhatsApp, SMS and email campaigns | Usage-based | WhatsApp per conversation, SMS per message by region, campaigns per bulk email |
| Phone | Usage-based | Inbound email support is included |
What an Intercom team pays
Fin’s share of the bill depends on how many conversations end in an outcome. The billable rates below are assumptions, not Intercom figures; the rate includes Procedure handoffs, so it can be higher than the share of conversations Fin fully resolves.
Monthly Intercom total for three example teams
| Monthly conversations | Assumed billable outcome rate | Billable outcomes | Fin usage at $0.99 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | 50% | 250 | $247.50 |
| 1,000 | 60% | 600 | $594.00 |
| 3,000 | 65% | 1,950 | $1,930.50 |
Add the seats to get a monthly total, using annual list prices before tax:
| Team | Seats | Fin usage | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 agents on Essential, 500 conversations | 3 × $29 = $87 | $247.50 | $334.50 |
| 10 agents on Advanced with Copilot, 1,000 conversations | 10 × ($85 + $29) = $1,140 | $594.00 | $1,734.00 |
| 25 agents on Expert, 3,000 conversations | 25 × $132 = $3,300 | $1,930.50 | $5,230.50 |
Both lines scale. Seats grow with every hire, and Fin’s line grows with successful automation: the more conversations Fin closes, the larger the usage bill.
What to check beyond the price
AI support is one part of the customer experience. SaaS teams often also need live chat, a knowledge base, user feedback, bug reporting, feature requests, product announcements and engineering integrations. If those live in separate products, the total cost can exceed the AI line item. Before you choose, ask:
- Do we pay per seat, per outcome, per channel or per feature?
- What happens to the bill when support volume doubles?
- Can we set hard usage caps or alerts?
- Can the AI hand off to people with full context?
- Does the same platform handle bugs, feedback and product requests?
How other AI support agents are priced
Vendors bill AI support in different units, so the prices below are not directly comparable. Use them to see what each bill depends on, then compare monthly totals for your own volume. List prices were checked on the vendors’ pages on September 26, 2026.
| AI agent | Billing unit | List price |
|---|---|---|
| Fin AI Agent (Intercom) | Outcome, at most once per conversation | $0.99 per outcome |
| Zendesk AI agents | Verified resolution, drawn from an allowance per agent seat | 5 or 10 resolutions per agent a month included, then $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go per resolution |
| Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent | Session (72 hours for email, 24 hours for chat) | 500 free sessions once per account, then $49 per 100 sessions |
| Help Scout AI Answers | Resolution | $0.75 per resolution |
| Tidio Lyro | Lyro conversation | From $39 a month for 50 conversations on monthly billing |
| Front Autopilot | Conversation | From $0.05 per conversation |
| Gleap Kai Support | The AI it uses, from your AI balance | An estimated under $0.05 per resolution; about $0.35 with deep code investigations (how we estimate) |

How Gleap compares
Kai Support, Gleap’s AI support agent, uses a different pricing model. Kai Support is on every Gleap plan. As of October 2026, Starter costs $29 per month billed annually ($35 billed monthly) with one seat, Team costs $149 per month billed annually ($179 billed monthly) with Kai Copilot, unlimited seats and unlimited projects, and Enterprise starts at $999 per month billed annually; see the pricing page. Intercom charges $0.99 per Fin outcome; Gleap bills Kai Support by the AI it uses, and a resolution costs an estimated under $0.05.
1,000 Fin outcomes cost $990, while Kai Support bills the same conversations by the AI they use. A 10-person support team pays $149 a month for Gleap Team, where the same team pays $850 a month in Advanced seats on Intercom before Fin usage. Kai Support’s AI usage comes on top, an estimated under $0.05 per resolution, so estimate it with your own volume.
Gleap also includes workflows that SaaS teams often buy separately. On Team and up: a knowledge base, feature requests with a public roadmap, outbound messaging and seven support channels, email included; live chat and in-app bug reporting are on every plan, and in-app surveys come with Team. The trade-offs: Starter has one seat and live chat as its only channel, and Gleap has no phone channel. The Intercom comparison covers the differences and migration.

When Intercom still makes sense
Intercom can be the better fit when your team is invested in its inbox and Messenger, when Fin needs to answer by phone (Fin Voice) or SMS as well as chat and email, when you need Expert features such as HIPAA support, SLAs and multibrand help centers, or when you want Fin on top of an existing help desk such as Salesforce without Intercom seats.
The key is to model real volume. Pull your last three to six months of conversations, estimate realistic billable outcome rates, add seats and add-ons, and decide whether the monthly range works for you.
