A Gleap custom agent can read Figma files, frames, components and comments and add comments through Composio, and Kai Code can use the same toolkit while it builds. It helps product teams connect customer feedback in Gleap with the designs it concerns.
What a Gleap agent can do in Figma
- Bring feedback to the design: Add a comment to a file posts a customer’s feedback, with the ticket summary, on the frame it concerns.
- Read the design behind a request: Get file nodes returns the structure and text of specific frames, so the agent can compare a feature request with the current design.
- Show the screen: Render images of file nodes returns image links for frames that a teammate can open next to the ticket.
- Follow the discussion: Get comments in a file shows what designers already said about a screen.
Example: Feedback on a new checkout design
Several customers tell Gleap support that the new checkout hides the coupon field. The product designer asks the agent to collect the feedback on the design. The agent reads the checkout frame, adds one comment that summarizes the tickets and how many customers mentioned it, and posts the frame’s image link in the ticket. The designer decides whether to change the layout, and Kai Code can read the updated frame when the coding task starts.
How to connect Figma
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation > Agents and select a custom agent, or create one.
- In its Tools section, click Add tool and search for “Figma”.
- Pick Figma under More integrations and click Connect Figma.
- Sign in to Figma in the popup and approve access. If Gleap asks for a Figma access token instead, paste it.
- Open the new Figma tool and switch off every action the agent does not need, such as Create, modify, or delete variables and Delete a comment.
- Tell the agent in its instructions when to use Figma, then test it in chat.
Custom agents are included in the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Code, also on those plans, can use Figma in coding sessions once you add it under Settings > MCP in Kai Code.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with Figma?
Yes, through Composio. A Gleap custom agent can read files, nodes, components, styles, variables, versions and comments, render images and add comments. It reads and writes Figma only during an agent run.
Does Gleap connect to Figma through MCP?
Yes. Gleap connects to Composio’s MCP server for Figma with the Figma account you connect, and the agent calls only the actions you leave switched on. To use a different remote MCP server, add it by URL: as a Custom MCP tool for Kai Support or a custom agent, or as a custom HTTP server in Kai Code.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in Figma?
It puts customer feedback where designers work and pulls design context into tickets and feature requests. With Kai Code, the same toolkit gives a coding session access to the frames it implements.
Which Gleap plan includes the Figma integration?
Kai Support and Kai Code can use the Figma toolkit on Team, Pro and Enterprise; custom agents that use it are on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Support answers customers, so switch on only actions that are safe in a customer conversation. The connected Figma account needs access to the files the agent should read. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can Kai Code build from a Figma design?
Yes, with the design as context. Kai Code can read frames, styles and design tokens through the Figma toolkit while it works on a coding task. Engineers review the pull request, merge and ship as usual.
