Gleap AI agents can work in Basecamp through Composio, for agencies and product teams that plan their work in Basecamp projects and hear from customers through Gleap. A custom agent can put confirmed bug reports and requests into the right Basecamp to-do list, add customer evidence to existing work and keep the team’s Campfire informed.
What a Gleap agent can do in Basecamp
- Confirmed bugs as to-dos: Create To-Do in To-Do List adds a to-do with the steps, browser and page from a Gleap bug report after a teammate confirms it.
- Evidence on work in progress: Create Comment on Recording adds a comment to an existing to-do when another customer reports the same problem.
- Status for the support side: Get To-Dos from To-Do List shows whether the matching to-do is completed, so the teammate on the Gleap ticket knows where the work stands.
- A quick heads-up: Create Campfire Line posts a short message in the project’s Campfire, for example when a client reports a blocking issue.
Example: a client reports a broken form
An agency builds and maintains a web app for a client, and the client’s staff report through the Gleap widget that the contact form no longer submits. The support teammate confirms the bug and asks the agent on the Gleap ticket to hand it to the project team. The agent creates a to-do in the client’s Basecamp project with the report details and posts a line in Campfire. The project lead assigns the to-do, and the teammate tells the client once the fix is confirmed live.
How to connect Basecamp
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation, then Agents, and select the custom agent that should use Basecamp, or click Create agent.
- Under Tools, click Add tool, search for “Basecamp” and select it.
- Click Connect Basecamp and approve access in the Basecamp sign-in window.
- Open the Basecamp tool and switch off every action the agent should not use, such as the delete and project template actions or Complete To-Do.
- Publish the agent and test it in chat before you turn on a trigger.
Custom agents are on the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with Basecamp?
Yes. Gleap AI agents use Basecamp through Composio’s Basecamp toolkit, connected with a Basecamp sign-in. The agent creates and reads Basecamp items when it runs; to-dos and Gleap tickets are not synced automatically.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in Basecamp?
It can read projects, people, to-do lists, to-dos, messages, comments, card tables and Campfire lines, create to-dos, comments, messages, cards and Campfire lines, complete to-dos and manage columns and templates. It acts as the Basecamp user who connected, so choose that account deliberately.
Which Gleap plan includes the Basecamp integration?
Custom agents that use Basecamp are part of the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans, and Kai Support can use connected apps as tools in its customer conversations on Team, Pro and Enterprise. The connected Basecamp user’s project access decides where the agent can post. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can the agent tell the customer when the to-do is done?
A completed to-do is not a release. The agent can see that a to-do was completed and tell the teammate, who confirms the fix is live before the customer hears about it.
