A Gleap custom agent can record feature requests from support tickets in Canny: it finds the matching post, adds the customer’s vote and comments with the context. It suits teams that run their public feedback board in Canny and handle support conversations in Gleap.
What a Gleap agent can do in Canny
- Vote for the customer: Create or Update User identifies the customer in Canny by email, and Create Vote adds their vote to the matching post.
- Avoid duplicate posts: List Posts lets the agent search a board before Create Post opens a new one.
- Add the support context: Create Comment posts the use case from the ticket, so product managers see why the customer asked.
- Check status before a reply: List Posts returns each post’s status, so the teammate can tell the customer whether the request is planned.
Example: A chat request becomes a vote
A customer on a paid plan asks for SAML login in chat. The teammate asks the agent to log it. The agent lists posts on the Feature Requests board, finds the SAML post, creates the customer as a Canny user and adds their vote with a short comment about their team size. The teammate replies with the post’s current status, and status changes stay with the product team.
How to connect Canny
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation > Agents and select a custom agent, or create one.
- In its Tools section, click Add tool and search for “Canny”.
- Pick Canny under More integrations and click Connect Canny.
- Paste your Canny API key into the form Gleap shows and connect.
- Open the new Canny tool and switch off every action the agent does not need, such as Delete Post or Change Post Status.
- Tell the agent in its instructions when to use Canny, then test it in chat.
Custom agents are included in the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Code, also on those plans, can use Canny in coding sessions once you add it under Settings > MCP in Kai Code.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with Canny?
Yes. Gleap connects to Canny through Composio, which gives custom agents actions such as List Posts, Create Vote, Create Comment and Create Post. Votes and posts appear in Canny only when an agent run calls those actions.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in Canny?
It can read boards, posts, comments, votes and users, add votes and comments, create posts and tags, and change a post’s status if you allow it. That lets support capture requests without asking customers to visit the board.
Which Gleap plan includes the Canny integration?
Kai Support and Kai Code can use the Canny toolkit on Team, Pro and Enterprise; custom agents that use it are on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Support answers customers, so switch on only actions that are safe in a customer conversation. On the Canny side, you need your workspace’s API key. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can the agent change a post’s status in Canny?
Only if you leave Change Post Status switched on. That action can notify voters, so consider keeping status changes with the product manager and giving the agent read, vote and comment actions only.
