Gleap AI agents can use DigitalOcean through Composio, for teams that run their product on DigitalOcean and hear about outages from customers in Gleap. A custom agent can read the state of droplets, load balancers, firewalls and DNS records, so support knows whether a customer’s problem lines up with the infrastructure.
What a Gleap agent can do in DigitalOcean
- Is a server down: List All Droplets and Retrieve Existing Droplet show the status of the droplets behind a service when customers report timeouts.
- Load balancer state: List All Load Balancers shows your load balancers and their configuration, which helps when only some customers see errors.
- Pages that stopped resolving: List Domain Records shows the DNS records of a domain, for example when a customer subdomain no longer loads.
- Blocked connections: List All Firewalls shows the rules that could block a customer’s traffic or an integration’s callbacks.
Example: timeouts in one region
Customers on your Frankfurt servers report through the Gleap widget that the app keeps timing out. A teammate asks the agent on one of the tickets to check DigitalOcean. The agent lists the droplets in that region and finds one of the two application droplets switched off. It posts that on the Gleap ticket, and the on-call engineer decides how to bring it back.
How to connect DigitalOcean
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation, then Agents, and select the custom agent that should use DigitalOcean, or click Create agent.
- Under Tools, click Add tool, search for “DigitalOcean” and select it.
- Click Connect DigitalOcean and follow the authorization Gleap shows: a DigitalOcean API token, or the client ID and secret of your own DigitalOcean OAuth app followed by a sign-in window.
- Open the DigitalOcean tool and switch off every create, update, tag and delete action, so the agent can only read.
- Publish the agent and test it in chat before you turn on a trigger.
Custom agents are on the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with DigitalOcean?
Yes. Gleap AI agents use DigitalOcean through Composio’s DigitalOcean toolkit, which supports API tokens and OAuth. The agent reads or changes resources only while it runs; Gleap does not monitor your infrastructure on its own.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in DigitalOcean?
It can list and read droplets, apps, databases, Kubernetes clusters, volumes, load balancers, firewalls, VPCs, images, domains and DNS records, and create, update, tag or delete many of them. Infrastructure changes belong with your engineers, so give the agent read access only.
Which Gleap plan includes the DigitalOcean integration?
Custom agents that use DigitalOcean are part of the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans, and Kai Support can use connected apps as tools in its customer conversations on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Create a read-only API token for the agent where possible. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can the agent read server logs or metrics?
Not with this toolkit, which covers resources rather than monitoring data. Connect your log or monitoring tool, such as Datadog or New Relic, when the agent should look at errors and response times.
