A Gleap custom agent can read FreshBooks businesses, clients, projects, staff and journal entries through Composio. It is a small, read-focused connection for freelancers and agencies that bill with FreshBooks and answer client questions in Gleap.
What a Gleap agent can do in FreshBooks
- Find the client: List Clients filters clients by email, so the agent can match the person in the ticket to their FreshBooks client record.
- Check the project: List Projects returns the business’s projects with their details, which helps when a client asks about work in progress.
- Know who handles the account: Get Business Users lists the staff of the business, so the agent can name the right owner.
- Review bookkeeping entries: List Journal Entries shows the entries behind a question from an accountant.
Example: A new billing contact
A client writes in Gleap that invoices should go to their new finance manager. The teammate asks the agent to check the account. The agent finds the client in FreshBooks, lists the projects that are still active and names the staff member who manages the account. The account owner updates the billing contact in FreshBooks and confirms it to the client.
How to connect FreshBooks
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation > Agents and select a custom agent, or create one.
- In its Tools section, click Add tool and search for “FreshBooks”.
- Pick FreshBooks under More integrations and click Connect FreshBooks.
- Sign in to FreshBooks in the popup and approve access.
- Open the new FreshBooks tool and switch off every action the agent does not need, such as Delete Webhook or Register as a New User.
- Tell the agent in its instructions when to use FreshBooks, then test it in chat.
Custom agents are included in the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Code, also on those plans, can use FreshBooks in coding sessions once you add it under Settings > MCP in Kai Code.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with FreshBooks?
Yes, through Composio. The FreshBooks toolkit gives a Gleap custom agent read access to businesses, clients, projects, staff and journal entries, plus webhook management. It does not include invoice actions today.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in FreshBooks?
It matches clients from support tickets to their FreshBooks records and brings project and staff context into the conversation. Billing changes happen in FreshBooks, by your team.
Which Gleap plan includes the FreshBooks integration?
Kai Support and Kai Code can use the FreshBooks toolkit on Team, Pro and Enterprise; custom agents that use it are on Team, Pro and Enterprise. Kai Support answers customers, so switch on only actions that are safe in a customer conversation. You authorize FreshBooks once in the popup. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Why can’t the agent read FreshBooks invoices?
Composio’s FreshBooks toolkit currently has no invoice actions. If you need them, a custom agent can call the FreshBooks API through Gleap’s API call tool.
