Gleap AI agents can use Postman through Composio, for API-first teams that document and test their APIs in Postman and support developers in Gleap. Kai Code and custom agents can read your collections, specifications and monitor results, so answers to API questions and fixes to API bugs start from what your team documented.
What a Gleap agent can do in Postman
- The documented request: Get All Collections and Get Request Information find the request a developer asks about in Gleap, with its method, URL, headers and body.
- The spec behind an endpoint: Get API Specification and Get Spec File Contents return the OpenAPI definition, so Kai Code can check the contract while it prepares a fix.
- Is the endpoint healthy: Get All Monitors and Get Monitor Information show whether the Postman monitor for an endpoint passed its latest runs.
- Comments your team left: Get Request Comments shows discussion on a request, such as a known limitation.
Example: a 400 error on a documented endpoint
A developer using your API writes in the Gleap widget that creating an invoice returns a 400 error, although they follow the docs. A teammate asks the agent on the ticket to compare. The agent reads the request in your Postman collection and the OpenAPI spec, and finds that the spec marks a field as optional while the collection example always sends it. It posts the difference, and the engineer decides whether the docs or the API need to change.
How to connect Postman
- In Gleap, open Kai Code, click Settings and open MCP.
- Click Add MCP server, search for “Postman” and select it.
- Enter your Postman API key and any other details the form asks for, then click Connect Postman.
- Open the Postman server and switch off the tools Kai Code should not call, such as environment reads that hold secrets, Replace Collection Data Asynchronously and the delete actions.
- For a custom agent, add Postman under the agent’s Tools with Add tool instead, then publish and test it.
Kai Code is on Team, Pro and Enterprise, and Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on the same plans. Custom agents are on the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with Postman?
Yes. Kai Code and custom agents use Postman through Composio’s Postman toolkit, authenticated with a Postman API key. They read or change your Postman workspace only while they run; Gleap does not import collections.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in Postman?
It can read and create collections, requests, specs, environments, mock servers, monitors and workspaces, run monitors, sync collections with specs and manage comments and pull requests. Environments can contain API keys and tokens, so switch off every action that reads them.
Which Gleap plan includes the Postman integration?
Kai Code can use Postman on Team, Pro and Enterprise, and Kai Support can use connected apps as tools in its customer conversations on the same plans. Custom agents that use Postman are part of the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. The Postman API key belongs to a user, and the agents see that user’s workspaces. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can Kai Support answer API questions from our Postman docs?
Kai Support answers from Gleap’s knowledge base, so publish the API guides customers should see there. A custom agent with Postman can help your team with harder API questions that need the collection or spec.
