Gleap AI agents can work in Intercom through Composio, for teams that chat with customers in Intercom and collect bug reports, feature requests or roadmap votes in Gleap. A custom agent can find the matching Intercom conversation, tag it and leave a note for the teammate who owns it.
What a Gleap agent can do in Intercom
- Conversation history for a bug report: Search contacts and Search conversations find the reporter’s recent Intercom conversations, and the agent summarizes them on the Gleap ticket.
- Notes on the Intercom contact: with Create a note, the agent records on the customer’s Intercom contact that a Gleap bug report exists and what it contains.
- Tags for known issues: Attach tag to conversation marks every Intercom conversation that belongs to the same bug, so the chat team can find them later.
- What the help center already says: Search for articles checks your Intercom articles before a teammate explains a feature.
- Intercom tickets for follow-up work: Create ticket opens an Intercom ticket when the chat team wants to track the issue on their side too.
Example: a sync problem that started in chat
A customer describes a sync problem in Intercom chat, and your teammate asks them to send a report through the Gleap widget so the screenshot and device details come along. When the report arrives, a teammate @mentions the agent on the Gleap ticket. The agent finds the Intercom conversation, attaches the tag for the sync issue and adds a note to the customer’s contact that points to the Gleap report. The chat teammate decides when and what to reply in Intercom.
How to connect Intercom
- In Gleap, open AI & Automation, then Agents, and select the custom agent that should use Intercom, or click Create agent.
- Under Tools, click Add tool, search for “Intercom” and select it.
- Click Connect Intercom and approve access in the Intercom sign-in window.
- Open the Intercom tool and switch off every action the agent should not use, such as Reply to conversation, Close conversation or Delete a contact.
- Publish the agent and test it in chat before you turn on a trigger.
Custom agents are on the Team, Pro and Enterprise plans. Kai Support can use connected apps as tools on Team, Pro and Enterprise.
FAQ
Does Gleap integrate with Intercom?
Yes. Gleap AI agents use Intercom through Composio’s Intercom toolkit, which connects with Intercom’s OAuth sign-in. The agent calls Intercom when it runs; there is no background sync of conversations between the two products.
Does Gleap connect to Intercom through MCP?
Yes. Gleap connects to Composio’s MCP server for Intercom with the Intercom account you connect, and the agent calls only the actions you leave switched on. To use a different remote MCP server, add it by URL: as a Custom MCP tool for Kai Support or a custom agent, or as a custom HTTP server in Kai Code.
What can a Gleap AI agent do in Intercom?
It can search and read contacts, conversations, tickets and articles, add notes and tags, create tickets and conversations, and record data events. Actions that write to customers, such as replying to or closing a conversation, are included too, so switch them off unless the agent should use them.
Which Gleap plan includes the Intercom integration?
Custom agents that use Intercom are part of Gleap’s Team, Pro and Enterprise plans, and Kai Support can use connected apps as tools in its customer conversations on Team, Pro and Enterprise. The Intercom workspace you authorize sets what the agent can reach. AI usage is billed separately; see pricing.
Can we move from Intercom to Gleap?
Yes, without Composio. Data import in the Gleap inbox brings in Intercom contacts, tickets and conversations, and the help center importer brings in Intercom articles. The Gleap and Intercom comparison explains the differences in pricing and features.
