The best CSAT software depends on where you want customers to rate you. Simplesat and Nicereply add ratings to the help desk you already use, Zendesk has CSAT built in, Survicate and Refiner ask inside your product, Retently and Zonka Feedback run NPS, CSAT and CES programs, SurveyMonkey covers general surveys, and Gleap asks after support conversations and inside your app.
CSAT software, also called customer satisfaction software, asks customers to rate one experience, such as a support conversation or an onboarding step, and turns the answers into a score you can track. This list compares nine tools by where they ask, what they measure, what they cost and where they fall short. Prices are USD list prices from each vendor’s own pricing page, checked on September 27, 2026.
What CSAT software does
CSAT stands for customer satisfaction score. The survey is usually one question, such as “How satisfied were you with the help you received?”, answered on a short scale with an optional comment. Depending on the tool, the score is the share of satisfied answers or the average rating.
Good CSAT software does four jobs:
- Asks at the right moment: after a ticket is solved or a chat closes, after onboarding, or inside your product after a key task.
- Links each rating to its context: the customer, the conversation and the teammate or AI agent who handled it.
- Reports the score: over time, by teammate, by channel and by how many customers answered.
- Starts the follow-up: an alert, a tag or a reopened conversation when a rating is low.
CSAT measures one experience. NPS asks how likely someone is to recommend you and tracks the relationship, and CES asks how easy a task was. Most tools on this list also run NPS surveys. The CSAT vs NPS vs CES guide explains when to use each.

The 9 best CSAT tools in 2026
Each entry names who the tool fits, what it does, its dated price and its limits. The first three rate support tickets, the next two ask inside your product, two run wider CX programs, one covers general surveys, and Gleap combines support ratings with in-app surveys.
1. Simplesat: ratings inside your help desk
Best for: support teams on Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, Gorgias or Gladly that want ratings in the help desk they already use.
Simplesat adds CSAT, NPS and five-star surveys to your help desk. Surveys go out in the ticket email, by direct email, by link or embedded on a web page, and alerts reach email, Slack or Microsoft Teams. Every plan includes unlimited surveys and unlimited support agents.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): Standard costs $109 per month billed annually ($119 monthly) for 1,000 responses a month and five account users. Pro costs $229 billed annually for 3,000 responses and adds multi-brand support. Help desk integrations are on every plan; Salesforce starts on Pro. The 14-day trial includes Elite features (Simplesat pricing).
Limitations: priced by monthly responses. Surveys go out by email, link and web embed; its pricing page lists no in-app or mobile SDK.
2. Nicereply: help desk CSAT, CES and NPS at a low entry price
Best for: small support teams that want all three metrics from their help desk for less than $100 a month.
Nicereply sends surveys after a ticket is resolved, in your email signature, by link and as a website pop-up. It connects to help desks such as Zendesk, Front, Help Scout and Freshdesk. Every plan includes CSAT, CES and NPS, all integrations and unlimited active surveys.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): Starter costs $59 per month billed annually ($79 monthly) for 100 responses a month and three users. Essential costs $119 billed annually for 250 responses and ten users. There is a 14-day trial and no free plan (Nicereply pricing).
Limitations: the entry plans cap responses low, so a busy support team moves up quickly. No mobile app SDK is listed.
3. Zendesk: CSAT built into the help desk
Best for: teams already on Zendesk Suite Professional or higher.
When a ticket is solved, Zendesk asks the customer to rate it by email, in messaging or on the help center’s request page, with an optional comment. You can change the question, the scale and the labels, add reasons to pick after a negative rating and set how many hours after solving the email goes out. Customers have 28 days to answer by default (Zendesk help).
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): Zendesk’s help center lists CSAT on Suite Growth, Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus, and on Support Professional and Enterprise. Its public pricing page lists Support Team ($19), Suite Team ($55), Suite Professional ($115) and Suite Enterprise, per agent per month billed annually, so the lowest listed plan with CSAT is Suite Professional (Zendesk pricing). The Zendesk pricing guide covers the plans and AI costs.
Limitations: priced per agent. On email, every solved ticket triggers a survey and customers cannot opt out, so frequent contacts get many requests.
4. Survicate: surveys in your product, app and email
Best for: product and CX teams that want CSAT and NPS in the web app, the mobile app, email and the website from one tool.
Survicate runs surveys by email, link, website pop-up, in-product and through a mobile app SDK, with CSAT templates on several scales. Answers and feedback from connected tools land in its AI research hub, and Growth includes more than 25 integrations.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): a free plan with 25 responses a month and one active survey. Growth starts at $56 per month billed annually for 100 responses a month and costs $114 for 250. Pro starts at $349 a month. The 10-day trial includes 25 responses (Survicate pricing).
Limitations: priced by responses. On Growth, Pro and Enterprise, surveys stop collecting at the limit until you upgrade or buy more responses.
5. Refiner: in-app microsurveys priced by users
Best for: SaaS products that want short CSAT, NPS and CES surveys inside the web or mobile app.
Refiner shows surveys in your web app, in mobile apps (iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter), by email and on hosted survey pages, with templates for NPS, CES, CSAT and product-market fit. Paid plans include unlimited survey responses and unlimited team members.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): Essentials costs $149 per month billed monthly for up to 5,000 monthly active users, or $1,490 billed annually. Growth starts at $279 per month. After the 30-day trial, which is capped at 100 responses, an account moves to the free plan with 25 responses a month (Refiner pricing).
Limitations: the price follows your number of monthly active users, not your survey volume. It is built for product surveys rather than ratings after support conversations.
6. Retently: NPS, CSAT and CES campaigns
Best for: B2B teams running recurring NPS, CSAT and CES campaigns by email, with scores per account.
Retently runs the three metrics as campaigns with automations, reminders, AI topic analysis and alerts in email, Slack and Microsoft Teams. B2B Pro connects CRMs such as HubSpot and Pipedrive and adds account-level NPS and CSAT scores.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): B2B Basic costs $90 per month billed yearly ($100 monthly) for 3,000 surveys, three campaigns and three seats, with email and link surveys. B2B Pro starts at $269 billed yearly ($299 monthly) for 10,000 surveys and adds embedded, pop-up and feedback button surveys. B2B plans come with a 7-day trial (Retently pricing).
Limitations: in-app pop-ups need Pro, extra users cost $10 a month and extra campaigns $20, and the Salesforce integration needs Enterprise.
7. Zonka Feedback: multichannel CX programs
Best for: teams that collect feedback beyond digital channels, such as SMS, WhatsApp and physical locations.
Zonka Feedback measures NPS, CSAT and CES by email, SMS, WhatsApp, website, in-product and in-app surveys (with an SDK) and offline. It adds case management, real-time alerts and integrations with help desks such as Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Help Scout and Front.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): no published prices. Quotes depend on response volume, plus data credits for its AI feedback analysis. There is a 14-day trial (Zonka Feedback pricing).
Limitations: you need a quote to compare cost, and the product covers more than a small SaaS team needs for CSAT after support.
8. SurveyMonkey: general surveys with CSAT templates
Best for: teams that need CSAT next to research surveys and forms, starting on a free plan.
SurveyMonkey includes customer satisfaction and NPS templates among its customer feedback templates. Surveys are shared by web link or on your website, and paid plans add email invitations.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): the free Basic plan allows 10 questions per survey and a limited number of responses. Advantage Annual costs $39 per month ($468 billed annually) for one user and 15,000 responses a year. Team plans start at $30 per user per month billed annually, with a minimum of three users (SurveyMonkey pricing).
Limitations: it is a general survey tool, so linking a rating to a support conversation or a moment in your product takes an integration or extra setup. Compare SurveyMonkey and Gleap.
9. Gleap: CSAT after support conversations and in your app
Best for: software teams that want ratings after support conversations and surveys inside their product, in the same workspace as the inbox, bug reports and feature requests.
Gleap asks for the rating in the conversation. The workflow step Rate conversation (CSAT) shows five faces, from very unhappy to very happy, in the chat widget and works on every channel your plan includes. In email conversations, the customer rates from the email. New projects come with a Conversation rating workflow, saved as a draft, that asks when a conversation is closed. A condition step can branch on the rating, for example to tag or assign a conversation that scored low.
The Conversation rating report shows the average rating, the number of ratings, the share of conversations that were rated, ratings by teammate and the latest rated conversations. The Kai report shows the rating for conversations that Kai, the AI support agent, handled, and the thumbs up and down customers gave its answers.
From Team, in-app surveys add NPS, numeric scales, smiley ratings and open questions. They show by event, page and audience or go out by link and email. Identified answers link to the contact, so a teammate can follow up from the inbox.
Pricing (checked September 27, 2026): conversation ratings work on every plan, including Starter at $49 per month billed annually ($59 monthly) with live chat and email. In-app surveys and the other five channels need Team, at $149 per month billed annually ($179 monthly) with unlimited seats. AI usage is billed separately through prepaid credits, and emails to customers cost $2 per 1,000 (Gleap pricing).
Limitations: there is no free plan; the 14-day trial includes a $50 AI credit. Gleap is a support platform, so if you want to keep your current help desk, an add-on such as Simplesat or Nicereply is the smaller change. Surveys run in the widget, on a hosted link or in an email; for SMS or offline surveys, look at Zonka Feedback.
How to choose CSAT software
Start with where your customers already talk to you, then check the pricing unit against your volume.
- Support first: if ratings should follow tickets in a help desk you keep, choose an add-on such as Simplesat or Nicereply, or your help desk’s built-in CSAT if your plan includes it.
- Product first: if you want to ask inside your web or mobile app, choose a tool with an in-app SDK, such as Survicate, Refiner or Gleap.
- Both: if support ratings and in-app answers should sit next to the same customer record, choose a platform that does both, or plan the integration between two tools.
- The pricing unit: the tools here charge by monthly responses, surveys sent, monthly active users, users or agents. Gleap charges a flat plan price with unlimited seats from Team. Estimate a month of your own volume before you compare.
- AI and human answers: if an AI agent answers part of your support, check that the report separates the conversations the AI handled from the ones your team handled.
- Follow-up: a low rating helps only when someone acts on it. Check for alerts, tags, reopened conversations and exports.
For the questions to ask and example surveys, see customer satisfaction survey questions and templates.
When to ask for CSAT
Ask right after the experience you want rated, once, with one question and an optional comment.
- TriggerEvent
onboarding_completed - AudienceSigned up more than 7 days ago
- PagesURL contains
/app/ - How oftenSent once
- After a support conversation closes. This is the most common trigger. Zendesk sends its email survey once a ticket is solved, after a delay you set in hours. In Gleap’s default rating workflow, the rating step runs when a conversation is closed.
- After onboarding or a first key task. Trigger an in-app survey on the event your product sends, so only people who finished the step see it.
- After a fix or a feature ships. Ask the customers who reported the problem or requested the feature whether the change solved it.
- Not too often. One person should not get a survey after every message. Set a frequency, and skip the survey while a problem is still open.
Keep the question and the scale the same over time. A score from a three-point scale is not comparable with one from a five-point scale, so a change of scale restarts your trend.
If you are replacing Delighted
Delighted, the NPS and CSAT survey tool owned by Qualtrics, is no longer available: delighted.com now leads to a Qualtrics page that says so (checked September 27, 2026). If you used it for email NPS and CSAT, Nicereply, Simplesat and Retently cover email and link surveys. If you also asked inside your product, compare Survicate, Refiner and Gleap. Keep the question and scale you used before, so the new scores continue your trend.
Gleap publishes this list and makes one of the tools on it. Every price comes from the vendor’s own page on September 27, 2026. Prices change, so check the current terms before you buy.
