Front pricing starts at $25 per seat a month for Starter, billed annually. Professional costs $65 and Enterprise $105 per seat a month, and Enterprise is sold on annual billing only (Front pricing, checked October 3, 2026). AI comes in two forms: per-seat add-ons such as Copilot, and Autopilot, Front’s AI agent, which is billed per conversation.
This guide covers what each plan includes, the seat caps, how the AI add-ons and Autopilot are billed, the other add-ons and what three example teams pay. All prices are USD list prices from Front’s own pages, as of October 2026. If you are weighing a switch, the Gleap and Front comparison and Gleap pricing cover the other side.
Front plans and prices
| Plan | Per seat per month, billed annually | Billed monthly | Seats | What the plan adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $25 | $35 | Up to 10 | One channel type (email, Front Chat or SMS), shared inbox and ticketing, AI Topics, up to 10 rules, basic analytics, a basic knowledge base |
| Professional | $65 | $85 | Up to 50 | All channels including WhatsApp, macros, up to 20 rules, advanced analytics, up to 5 workspaces, SSO and SCIM |
| Enterprise | $105 | Annual only | No cap | Smart rules, unlimited rules and macros, a multilingual knowledge base, custom roles and reports, unlimited workspaces; Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT included |
Front labels annual billing “Save 24%”. Each license also caps connected channels: 10 on Starter, 30 on Professional and 50 on Enterprise. You cannot mix plans inside one organization, so every seat sits on the same plan.
Starter, Professional or Enterprise
Starter fits a small team that answers customers in one channel, usually email. The single channel type is the limit most teams hit first: adding chat or WhatsApp means moving everyone to Professional.
Professional is the plan for multichannel support, and it adds SSO. At 10 seats it costs $400 a month more than Starter, so check whether the second channel is worth that.
Enterprise makes sense once you would buy the AI add-ons anyway. Professional plus Copilot, Smart QA and Smart CSAT costs $65 + $20 + $25 = $110 per seat, more than Enterprise at $105 with all three included.
How Front charges for AI
Per-seat AI add-ons. These are listed on the pricing page:
| Add-on | Per seat per month | Included in |
|---|---|---|
| Copilot | $20 | Enterprise |
| Smart QA | $20 | Enterprise |
| Smart CSAT | $10 | Enterprise |
| Smart QA and Smart CSAT bundle | $25 | Enterprise |
Autopilot, per conversation. Autopilot is available on all plans, and Front charges only the highest level a conversation reaches (Front help center, checked October 3, 2026):
- Triage, $0.05. The lowest level, when Autopilot only triages the conversation.
- Handoff, $0.39. Autopilot works on the conversation and passes it to a teammate.
- Resolution, $0.89. No teammate replies within 24 hours on chat, SMS, WhatsApp and custom channels, or within 72 hours on email and the portal.
There is no charge when a teammate cancels Autopilot, the customer asks for a person or a technical failure stops it. Usage is billed monthly as pay as you go, and Front offers volume discounts as prepaid commitments. The older AI Answers product is marked as legacy.
Other Front add-ons
- WhatsApp: Meta’s message costs plus a 20% admin fee, on Professional and Enterprise.
- API rate limit: $200 a month per extra 100 requests a minute.
- Onboarding: an onboarding package is required for contracts over $25,000.
- Payment: wire or ACH for annual contracts over $12,000.
What a Front team pays
These examples use annual list prices from October 3, 2026, before tax and WhatsApp fees. The Autopilot rows assume 1,000 AI conversations a month: 500 resolutions, 300 handoffs and 200 triaged only. That mix is our assumption, not a Front figure: 500 × $0.89 + 300 × $0.39 + 200 × $0.05 = $572.
Monthly Front total for three example teams
| Team | Plan and add-ons | Calculation | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 seats, email only | Starter | 5 × $25 | $125 |
| 10 seats, multichannel with AI | Professional + Copilot + Autopilot | 10 × ($65 + $20) + $572 | $1,422 |
| 25 seats, AI across the team | Enterprise + Autopilot | 25 × $105 + $572 | $3,197 |
Two lines grow over time. Seats grow with every hire, and the caps can force a plan change at 11 or 51 seats. Autopilot grows with automation: the more conversations it resolves, the more resolutions you pay $0.89 for.
Free trial and discounts
Front offers a 14-day free trial with Professional features, and no credit card is needed. There is no free plan. Front labels annual billing “Save 24%”; at list prices, Starter costs $10 less per seat a month and Professional $20 less than monthly billing.
When Front is worth the price
Front fits teams that run customer communication as shared email work across support, account management and operations, with SMS and WhatsApp next to email and strong collaboration inside threads. It also fits teams that want an AI agent priced per outcome level rather than per seat.
It fits less well when many people need occasional access, since every teammate is a paid seat, or when the questions are about a software product and engineering needs logs and replays to act on them.
How Front pricing compares with Gleap
Gleap is AI-native customer support for software teams, priced per workspace. As of October 2026, Gleap Free costs $0 with one seat, Team costs $149 a month billed annually ($179 monthly) and Pro $299 ($359 monthly), both with unlimited seats, and Enterprise starts at $999. New workspaces get a 7-day free trial, no credit card required.
| Front | Gleap | |
|---|---|---|
| Price basis | Per seat per month | Per workspace per month, unlimited seats on Team and Pro |
| 10 seats, billed annually | $650 on Professional, $850 with Copilot | $149 on Team, Kai Copilot included |
| AI agent | Autopilot, $0.05 to $0.89 per conversation | Kai Support, $0.29 per resolution, charged once per conversation it resolves |
| Free plan | No, 14-day trial | Yes, 1 seat and 50 tickets a month |
Team and Pro include all of Gleap’s agents. Kai Support answers customers, Kai Specialist investigates hard tickets with screen recordings, console and network logs, account data and your code, billed by the work it does (about $0.49 per investigation on average), Kai Code opens pull requests your team reviews, and Kai Copilot drafts replies at no charge.
The trade-offs are real. Gleap has no phone or SMS channel, and Front’s shared inbox suits non-support teams such as sales and operations better. Where Gleap differs is product context: bug reports from your app arrive with a marked screenshot, console and network logs and a session replay, and feature requests collect votes on a roadmap.
