PostHog pricing has no base fee and no seat fees. Every product has a free tier each month, such as 1M product analytics events, 5K session recordings and 1M feature flag requests, and usage beyond it is billed per unit at prices that fall as volume grows (PostHog pricing, checked October 3, 2026). Optional platform packages cost $250, $750 or $2,000 a month on top.
This guide covers the two plans, the free tier and price curve of each product, the platform packages, AI and support pricing, discounts and what three example products pay. All prices are USD list prices from PostHog’s own pages, as of October 2026. If you are looking at PostHog for customer support or bug reports, the PostHog alternative page and Gleap pricing cover that side.
PostHog plans
| Free | Pay-as-you-go | |
|---|---|---|
| Base price | $0 | $0 |
| Team members | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Projects | 1 | 6 |
| Data retention | 1 year | 7 years |
| Usage beyond the free tiers | Stops at the limit | Billed per unit |
| Support | Community | Email; Slack above $2,000 a month |
Both plans get the same free tiers every month. The difference is what happens when you pass them: the Free plan stops collecting, the paid plan keeps going and bills the extra. PostHog says 97% of companies use it for free.

Product analytics has paid add-ons with their own free tiers: identified events, group analytics, data pipelines and batch exports, each with 1M free a month (PostHog pricing).
The curve is steep at the start and flat later. The first paid million events costs $50; the next 13 million cost $0.0000343 each, about $446 together.
Platform packages
| Package | Per month | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Boost | $250 | Extends session replay retention to one year |
| Scale | $750 | Includes Boost; replay retention of one year |
| Enterprise | $2,000 | Includes Scale; replay retention of five years |
Without a package, replay retention is one month on Free and 90 days on pay-as-you-go. PostHog also sells an onboarding call for $80.
AI and support pricing
PostHog AI. The in-app AI assistant includes 500 credits a month, worth $5, then costs $0.01 per credit. PostHog prices it at the language model provider’s cost plus a 20% markup (PostHog AI pricing).
Support. PostHog’s Support product gives you an in-app chat widget, an inbox, and email, Slack and GitHub channels. The widget attaches events, session replay, URL and identity to each conversation. The widget, inbox, all four channels, workflow automation and historical imports are free with no per-seat charge (PostHog Support pricing). On October 3, 2026, the AI reply agent that drafts answers for your team to review was listed as coming soon.
Self-driving pull requests. PostHog’s Self-driving product opens pull requests from tickets. Each costs $15, the first three each month are free, a person approves before merging and unsuccessful pull requests are refunded.
Discounts and billing limits
- Annual credits: buying credits upfront earns 20% off from $25,000, rising to 40% off between $500,000 and $1M, with extra discounts for multi-year commitments.
- Startups: $50K in credits for 12 months for companies under two years old that raised under $5M. Y Combinator companies get $50K a year while they have raised under $25M.
- Nonprofits: 15% off credit purchases under $25,000.
- Billing limits: you set a dollar cap per product. PostHog emails at 80% and 100% of the cap and drops data beyond it for good (billing limits).
What a PostHog team pays
These examples use list prices from October 3, 2026, billed monthly, before tax and discounts.
Monthly PostHog total for three example products
| Product | Monthly usage | Usage cost | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early product | 800K events, 4K recordings, 900K flag requests, 1K survey responses, 50K exceptions | All inside the free tiers | $0 |
| Growing product | 5M events, 20K recordings, 3M flag requests, 3K survey responses, 200K exceptions | Events $152.90, replay $67.50, flags $145, surveys $85, errors $37 | $487.40 |
| Scaling product with Scale | 20M events, 60K recordings, 12M flag requests | Events $643.40, replay $192.50, flags $510, Scale $750 | $2,095.90 |
Each line follows the tier table: for the growing product, 1M events cost $50 and the next 3M cost $102.90; 10K recordings cost $50 and the next 5K cost $17.50.
Two habits keep the bill in line: set a billing limit per product, and record a sample of sessions instead of every visit. Surveys are the exception to “cheap per unit”: the first 500 paid responses cost $0.10 each.
When PostHog is worth the price
PostHog fits product and engineering teams that want analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and error tracking in one tool, with a generous free tier and no seat fees. For a small product, it can cost nothing at all.
It fits less well when the main job is talking to customers. PostHog’s Support product is new: it is an inbox, not a help center, and its AI reply agent was not live on October 3, 2026.
PostHog and Gleap
Gleap is AI-native customer support for software teams, and it does not do product analytics, feature flags or experiments. Many teams use PostHog to measure what users do and Gleap to talk to them.
Where the two overlap is support and bug reports. Gleap’s in-app bug reporting attaches a marked screenshot, console and network logs and device data to every report, and Kai Support, Gleap’s AI agent, answers customers in chat, email and the help center today. Kai Specialist investigates hard tickets with screen recordings, console and network logs, account data and your code, and Kai Code opens pull requests your team reviews.
As of October 2026, Gleap Free costs $0 with one seat and 50 tickets a month. Team costs $149 a month billed annually ($179 monthly) and Pro $299 ($359 monthly), both with unlimited seats, and Enterprise starts at $999. Team and Pro include all agents: Kai Support at $0.29 per resolution, Kai Specialist billed by usage (about $0.49 per investigation on average), Kai Copilot included, and Kai Code and Kai PM billed by usage. New workspaces start with a 7-day free trial, no credit card required.
The honest trade-off: PostHog’s support inbox is free and Gleap’s paid plans are not, while Gleap adds an AI agent that answers customers, a knowledge base, live chat and channels such as WhatsApp and Instagram. If error monitoring is also on your list, our Sentry pricing guide covers that bill.
